As one of the events in Climate Week, this panel aims at giving the public more insights into innovation in the local catering industry, particularly in the realm of food waste and packaging. To create more sparks of inspiration, three practitioners in the industry would be invited to deliver a panel discussion to the youth while enjoying sustainable craft beer during Friday happy hours.

Joel Tomas
- Director Of Partnerships
Zero Foodprint Asia
Joel has spent his entire adult life working in hospitality operations. Since 2016, the needle has shifted to how he can operate more responsibly, first through his own actions, and then to how he can bring others along. Through their consultancy Grassroots Initiatives, we help operators in their shift to more plant-forward and responsible operations. Via their NGO, Zero Foodprint Asia, they help to mobilise the hospitality sector around agricultural climate solutions, by raising funds via the restaurant platform to help farmers shift to regenerative practices. Joel is also completing an Arts/Health Science degree through Deakin University majoring in Health Promotion and International Relations.
Joshua Wong

Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels
Joshua leads the sustainability function at HSH, the owner and operator of the iconic Peninsula Hotels, luxury commercial and residential properties, and provides club management and other hospitality-related services. As the sustainability adviser to CEO, his role is to develop strategies and manages environmental, social and governance (ESG)-related risks for the company, preparing all HSH operations for sustainable and inclusive transition. He champions group initiatives covering topics of climate change, sustainable building, circular economy, responsible sourcing, animal welfare, modern slavery, diversity and inclusion, and social inequality.
Woody Chan
- CSR & Sustainability Manager at foodpanda
Woody Chan leads CSR and sustainability initiatives in foodpanda HK, strengthening foodpanda’s commitment to grow sustainably with its ecosystem of riders, merchants, and consumers. Since joining, Woody has focused on tackling issues such as carbon emissions, plastic consumption and food waste by building initiatives and establishing partnerships with market-leading environmental groups such as WWF-Hong Kong.
